This isn’t the first version of this site. There have been plenty before it, and none of them lasted long.
Looking back, I think I know why. Every one was built for other people. I’d picture who might read a post or use a project page, and write for them. Posting started to feel like homework, and updating a project felt like a chore. So I stopped, and the site went stale.
Built for me first
This time I’m the main user. This site is where I keep track of my projects and the things I do: ideas and half-formed thoughts, when something got upgraded, what hardware is in which machine.
Right now that information is spread across a handful of note-taking apps. I keep switching to try the next one, and the notes never fully make it across. Some of it lives in one app, some in another, and some only in my head.
The goal is for this to be the source of truth. Plain markdown files in a repo I control, so the next time I want to try a new tool, nothing gets lost on the way.
If you found your way here
You’re welcome to look around. If something here is interesting or useful to you, that’s great, and I’m glad it helped.
You won’t find comments or a contact form. That’s on purpose. Once there’s a place for questions, I start to feel like I owe answers, and that’s the same trap that ended every earlier version. These are my notes, shared as they are, with no support attached.
A note on AI
Everything here is mine: the projects, the ideas, the opinions, the experiences. I do use AI in two places. It helps with the design of the site itself, and it helps turn my brain dumps, rants and stray thoughts into journal entries and project write-ups that are easier to read. The thinking is mine; AI helps me tidy it up.
